Hydroseed can be significantly lower than the cost of sod on larger lots, but balances out pretty well on the smaller lots.  

A small example of hydroseed pricing is on a 70 x 120 lot the average cost of sod is $1900-2000 and the hydroseed cost would be approximately $1,500.

Plus, you have to wait for hydroseed to grow as opposed to sod that gives you the instant results you want.
